The Brockton Hospital School of Nursing is a private, co-educational institution of nursing education that is an integral part of Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital.


Founded in 1897, the school was forced to close in 1937 when all registered nurses not essential to hospital duty were obliged to register for military duty. The school reopened in 1943.
Brockton Hospital School of Nursing has a prestigious reputation in nursing education and remains the only hospital-based nursing school in the state of Massachusetts. Brockton Hospital School of Nursing has graduated over 2,700 nurses, mainly from Southeastern Massachusetts.

parent organization, Signature Healthcare. Since the first graduating class in 1897, the school has distinguished itself as a leader in post-secondary education in Metro South Massachusetts.
